Why Tradition Matters.
By Joel Kott
You may have noticed a few changes to my professional look these past few weeks. No, I did not start my own company. I am still a Realtor® with Paul Kott Realtors, Inc., one of Orange County’s longest-running independent real estate companies.
As a real estate professional, I have the responsibility to raise expectations when it comes to the experience of buying or selling property. My personal goal is to make each client feel like a member of my family, while I’m hard at work ensuring the easiest, most profitable transaction. Most of what I know—about real estate, service, and life—I learned from my dad, who started this business over 30 years ago.
It’s in my blood.
I wouldn’t be in real estate if it wasn’t for my dad. He’s a legend, and I’m proud to be carrying on our family business. As a true professional with over 36 years in the industry, he taught me to walk my talk and never take anyone for granted. One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned from my father is understanding the power of relationships and that you’re only as good as your last deal.
It’s simple and, I hope, speaks to the clients I aim to serve.
In Orange County—in my life—traditions are found in so many facets of how I live. Sometimes it’s in the simple things, like going back for a high school football game or going to the same restaurant to celebrate the holidays. Other times, traditions are powerful, from going on the annual family trip to singing The National Anthem at Angel Stadium. Or, for me, carrying on the family business and giving my clients the best real estate experience possible.
What does it mean for you? What are your family traditions?
